About The Position

The Logistics Manager - Air will establish work procedures and standards to ensure MEC competes at the highest level among logistics service providers in the U.S. This role involves developing and maintaining operational plans that encompass all business requirements, including objectives, targets, labor hours, KPIs, action plans, and budgets aligned with management's goals. The manager will be responsible for meeting the financial objectives of the facility and ensuring all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met. This position requires close coordination with other organizational functions and suppliers to optimize the utilization of human resources, IT, and equipment. The role also includes directing the resolution of operational and customer service problems to minimize costs and prevent delays, managing staff performance, recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee relations. A key aspect is ensuring compliance with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as maintaining a clean and organized facility. The manager will also work closely with customers to develop business opportunities and relationships, monitor and analyze the financial performance of the logistics and distribution business, and establish rules and guidelines for MEC's logistics activities. Negotiation with service providers for various logistics needs and ensuring compliance with U.S. warehousing and distribution regulations (CTPAT, OSHA, etc.) are also critical. The role includes ensuring safety standards in MEC’s logistics facilities and submitting timely management reports. Other duties as assigned by management may also be part of this role.

Requirements

Associates degree in logistics, business administration, or related field.
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in warehouse management and operations.
Excellent organization, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems.
Ability to work effectively in a multitasking environment and work constructively under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple projects, delegate to appropriate staff, and meet specific goals and deadlines.
Self-motivated, customer-service oriented, and eager to ensure the success of the team.
Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision.
Thorough experience on WMS; utilizing full functionality including RF.
Knowledge of WMS to drive efficiency.
TMS experience to include management of inbound and outbound loads, transload operations, and KPI management.

Responsibilities

Establish work procedures and standards for logistics services.
Develop and maintain operational plans including objectives, targets, labor hours, KPIs, action plans, and budgets.
Meet financial objectives for the facility.
Utilize full functionality of WMS, including RF, to drive efficiency.
Manage inbound and outbound loads, transload operations, and KPI management using TMS.
Ensure all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
Coordinate activities with other functions and suppliers for optimal productivity.
Direct the resolution of operational and customer service problems.
Manage staff, including performance, recruiting, onboarding, training & development, and employee relations.
Train employees on company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions.
Maintain a clean and organized facility that is “tour ready" at all times.
Work closely with customers to develop business opportunities and relationships.
Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the logistics and distribution business.
Establish rules and guidelines for MEC, U.S.’s logistics activities.
Negotiate rates and contracts with service providers for drayage, recoveries, distribution, and leases.
Ensure compliance with rules and laws relating to U.S. warehousing and distribution regulations (CTPAT, OSHA, etc.).
Ensure safety standards in MEC’s logistics facilities.
Submit timely management reports.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
