About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient coordination of shipping, receiving, and material flow activities. This role is responsible for preparing job packets, coordinating freight, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting daily logistics operations. The position works closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in logistics, shipping, administrative support, or office coordination preferred.
  • Proficiency in computers and relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Knowledge of shipping documents, freight coordination, and customer service practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and workplace standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Adhere to company no-smoking and cell phone policies in designated areas.
  • Issue material layouts and support material flow documentation.
  • Create and prepare job packets.
  • Prepare shipping packets and documentation for daily outbound shipments.
  • Request freight quotes from carriers and vendors.
  • Coordinate approved freight shipments by assigning carriers and creating Bills of Lading (BOL).
  • Create and issue freight purchase orders.
  • Coordinate shipment returns for incorrect or rejected job orders.
  • Receive incoming material and code MTRs, including scanning and filing documentation.
  • Coordinate rail freight shipments and related documentation.
  • Assist with receptionist and front office duties as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and shipment documentation.
  • Communicate with internal departments to support shipping priorities and customer needs.
  • Assist with special projects and additional administrative duties as assigned.
