About The Position

Hanes Industries, a division of Leggett & Platt, is a manufacturer and converter of nonwoven and textile materials. The Logistics Coordinator oversees daily domestic logistics activities and helps ensure efficient movement of goods by truck for inbound, outbound, cross-border, and intermodal shipments while maintaining compliance with transportation regulations. The role calls for experience managing shipments, coordinating with domestic and/or international vendors and freight forwarders, and improving logistics workflows.

The coordinator works with freight and internal partners, monitors transportation costs, delivery timelines, and inventory levels, and collaborates with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams. The position also maintains shipment records and documentation, resolves shipping issues, and uses ERP and transportation management systems to implement and improve logistics processes.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline with 3–5 years of relevant professional experience; or a bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 1 year of direct domestic logistics operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of shipping practices, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Certifications in international trade or logistics, such as CILT, APICS, or IATA.
• Experience with ocean, air, and cross-border ground transportation.
• Familiarity with trade compliance software and global logistics KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound domestic shipments, including FTL, LTL, intermodal, and expedited services.
• Maintain relationships with domestic freight partners and internal partners.
• Monitor and optimize transportation costs, delivery timelines, and inventory levels.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to align logistics strategies with business goals.
• Resolve shipping issues, delays, and discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation, and keep an organized email inbox.
• Implement and improve logistics processes using ERP and TMS systems.
• Stay informed of current logistics trends.
