Logistics Coordinator (Entry-Level)
About The Position
Allen Lund Company is hiring an entry-level Logistics Coordinator to support daily freight brokerage operations alongside Transportation Brokers. The coordinator manages active loads, uses digital tools and the company’s proprietary transportation management system (TMS), and helps ensure shipments move smoothly. The company provides training on its proprietary TMS. The role includes coordinating load setup and appointments, tracking shipments and communicating updates, contacting carriers about availability and capacity, maintaining compliance records, and supporting branch accounting and office workflows. It also requires delivering attentive customer support in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment.
Requirements
- Practical proficiency with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Calendar.
- Strong attention to detail when managing load data, compliance records, and financial documents.
- Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Comfort with and willingness to use modern technology and digital tools.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to or familiarity with AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Build loads, schedule pickup and delivery appointments, and set up vetted carriers in digital platforms.
- Conduct carrier update and check calls, track active shipments, and provide timely updates to shippers and customers.
- Contact carriers to inquire about lane availability, equipment types, and capacity, and build relationships with them.
- Request and verify insurance certificates, handle rate confirmations, and maintain carrier resources and records.
- Support branch accounting by matching invoices and issuing Com-checks or Quick Pays.
- Use digital tools to support daily office workflows.
- Provide high-touch customer support while upholding the company’s Customer, Company, and Office principles.
