About The Position

Ashland has an opportunity for a Logistics Assistant III in its Specialty Ingredients business at the Calvert City, Kentucky location. This visible role supports the Logistics function and reports to the Logistics Manager. The position handles SAP inventory transactions, inventory control, shipment coordination, customer returns and samples, and hazardous waste documentation. It works closely with the Lab, Customer Service Representatives, and adjacent team members to support product releases, customer demand, and on-time shipping. The role also involves learning and supporting other team functions and finding efficient ways of working.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–5 years of hands-on experience with SAP, Microsoft Office products (including spreadsheets), and web interfaces.
Must hold, or be willing to immediately obtain and maintain, 49CFR and 40CFR certifications.
Self-directed, tenacious self-starter who demonstrates responsible and ethical behavior.
Ability to understand the business, make complex decisions, and develop efficient ways of working.

Responsibilities

Handle SAP raw material receipts, move order processing, re-class data maintenance, and cycle counting.
Lead inventory control initiatives, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile production drumming records against finished-good material locations.
Partner with the Lab to support timely product releases in line with market demand.
Coordinate with Customer Service Representatives regarding product demand and Lab approvals.
Handle customer returns, export sample requests, notice to ship for small packages via re-pack, and damaged drum reporting and segregation.
Prepare hazardous waste manifests and oversee waste disposal protocols.
Learn and support adjacent team member roles, including order allocations using VL10G.
Manage TMS LTL and TL shipments.
Coordinate with Customer Service Representatives to meet customer on-time shipping needs and special requests.
