Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Neurosurgery
About The Position
This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide specialized neurosurgical care within a dynamic clinical environment. In this role, you will deliver expert neurosurgical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with a wide range of neurological and spinal conditions. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care and surgical outcomes. The position offers an annual salary in USD, reflecting the specialized nature of the assignment.
Requirements
- MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree
- Associate-level experience in neurosurgery
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
- Board certification or eligibility in Neurosurgery
- Strong clinical and surgical skills in neurosurgical care
- Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic imaging and test results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Willingness to work on-site in Franklin County
- Must be board-certified
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive neurosurgical evaluations and patient assessments
- Diagnose and treat disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system
- Conduct and assist with neurosurgical procedures and operations
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests
- Develop and manage individualized patient treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Document patient encounters accurately and maintain medical records
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care and follow-up
- Adhere to established clinical protocols and patient safety standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring physicians
- Participate in case reviews and clinical quality improvement activities
- Stay current with advances in neurosurgical techniques and best practices
