Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Gastroenterology

Requirements
- MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Valid and active medical license to practice in the state of Arizona
- Associate-level experience in gastroenterology clinical practice
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in gastroenterology
- Experience performing gastrointestinal procedures and interpreting diagnostic studies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary medical team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in patient documentation
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
- Ability to adapt quickly to a new clinical environment and workflow
- Current DEA registration and compliance with all applicable medical regulations
- ACLS certification
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive gastroenterology consultations and evaluations for patients
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive system disorders and conditions
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures as required
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tools
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists on patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans
- Educate patients and their families on gastrointestinal health, treatment options, and preventive care
- Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all medical practice regulations, standards, and protocols
- Provide continuity of care for patients throughout the duration of the locum contract
- Support nursing and clinical staff with guidance on gastroenterology best practices
