About The Position
This is a contract, on-site position designed for an Associate-level physician who is looking to make an immediate impact in a dynamic healthcare environment. As a Locum Gastroenterology physician, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care, diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal disorders, and performing endoscopic procedures. You will collaborate closely with our dedicated medical staff, ensuring continuity of care and superior patient outcomes. Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state for this locum assignment
- Associate-level clinical experience (or equivalent) in gastroenterology practice
- Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and upper endoscopy
- Strong diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care
- ACLS and BLS certifications
Responsibilities
- Provide expert outpatient and inpatient gastroenterology consultations and evaluations
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with gastrointestinal conditions
- Interpret diagnostic tests, such as imaging, lab results, and pathology reports
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists to optimize patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory standards
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency gastroenterology coverage as needed
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols within the medical practice
- Support quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction
