Payment Processing Specialist (Lockbox Operations)
About The Position
The Lockbox Processor is responsible for processing and reporting receivables for commercial and municipal Lockbox clients and internal loan payments for bank customers. This role processes and keys deposits and payments using Lockbox software, prepares and distributes remittance and related correspondence to clients daily, and generates and reviews monthly reports. Discrepancies are escalated to the Senior Lockbox Processor. The position reports to the Lockbox Supervisor and receives moderate to high supervision. It has no supervisory responsibilities. The Lockbox Processor is expected to demonstrate the Five Star Bank Experience and apply teamwork, leading by example, and service in interactions with internal and external customers and associates. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using a computer and keyboard.
- Strong keying skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to take initiative in problem solving and make practical decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new and existing banking software.
- Respond to requests for information in a timely and professional manner.
- Dependability in meeting attendance requirements and department schedules.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree.
- One or more years of data entry or customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Process and key Lockbox client receivables deposits and customer internal loan payments using Lockbox software.
- Prepare remittance and correspondence related to processed receivables and distribute them to Lockbox clients daily.
- Generate and review monthly reports and escalate discrepancies to the Senior Lockbox Processor.
- Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank Experience in interactions with internal and external customers and associates.
- Apply teamwork, leading by example, and service in all aspects of work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
