Depot & Route Logistics is hiring a local CDL-A dedicated grocery driver based at its West Haven, Connecticut yard. Drivers deliver fresh and frozen groceries within a 250-mile radius through New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, returning to the yard after every shift. Most freight is no-touch. The role uses slip-seat day-cab tractors, both automatic and manual, pulling 48- to 53-foot refrigerated trailers. About 20% to 25% of the work consists of New York City runs; drivers need at least six months on the account and certified trainer approval before taking those runs. The guaranteed minimum paycheck is $1,634 per week when the driver completes five workdays and logs at least 10 hours weekly. Estimated starting gross is $100,374 annually, with potential to increase based on tenure. Compensation includes mileage pay of $0.68 to $0.74 per mile, stop pay of $28.50 to $30, $62.50 per New York City drop, $50 per terminal truck move, detention pay of $15 per hour, and holiday pay of $280 per day. Safety training and orientation pay $200 per day ($20 per hour). Schedules consist of five days, either Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday, with daytime start times between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Drivers have daily resets and return home after each shift. Mandatory sixth shifts are required twice a month and around all six major holidays. Medical, dental, and vision coverage begins after 30 days. Paid time off begins accruing on the first day, and the company offers a matched 401(k). On-site leadership and support staff are available at the yard.
