About The Position

At Ben E. Keith Company, the Driver Shuttle Single DOT performs pickup and delivery of daily routes to domicile drivers and returns empty trailers to the warehouse for reloading. The role may occasionally include customer deliveries between the warehouse and shuttle site as needed. Drivers are expected to operate safely and courteously, maintain equipment, and comply with FMCSA laws and regulations. The position uses tractors and trailers and may involve working outside in extreme hot and cold temperatures. Ben E. Keith uses dash cameras with artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events, and improve driver safety performance; footage may also be used to exonerate drivers in accidents. Drivers sign a consent form upon hire acknowledging their understanding of this practice.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Class A CDL.
At least 1 year of DOT driving experience.
Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations.
Ability to read and interpret rules, guidelines, and operating and maintenance instructions.
Good computer skills.
Ability to learn internal applications, including OBC and POD equipment.
Ability to work outside in extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Sign a driver consent form upon hire acknowledging the use of dash-camera video.

Responsibilities

Safely and courteously drive and demonstrate Ben E. Keith principles when interacting with the public.
Maintain cleanliness and overall condition of tractors and trailers used during the shift.
Adhere to FMCSA laws and regulations.
Ensure tractors and trailers are adequately fueled and maintain fuel levels on equipment used at the warehouse or shuttle site.
Occasionally complete customer deliveries between the warehouse and shuttle site as needed.
Pick up and deliver daily routes to domicile drivers and return empty trailers to the warehouse for reloading.
