Local Class A Shuttle Doubles Driver
About The Position
The Shuttle Driver delivers loaded trailers to the shuttle depot and returns empty trailers to the branch. The role requires maintaining delivery time windows, promptly communicating problems to a supervisor, and following company safety standards. Drivers represent Ben E. Keith professionally by maintaining a positive attitude and meeting dress code and cleanliness standards. The company uses dash cameras with artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events, improve driver safety performance, and help exonerate drivers in accidents. Drivers sign a consent form upon hire acknowledging their understanding of this practice.
Requirements
- Have a good driving record, with no more than one moving violation in the past three years.
- Pass required drug and physical screening.
- Have at least one year of DOT driving experience.
- Hold a valid state-issued Class A CDL with Double/Triple Trailer endorsements.
- Be able to operate a single axle with 28-foot, 36-foot, and 48-foot trailers with tandem axle tractors.
- Have a high school diploma or GED; work experience may be substituted for education.
Responsibilities
- Deliver loaded trailers to the shuttle depot.
- Pick up empty trailers at the shuttle depot and return them to the branch.
- Maintain delivery time windows.
- Immediately communicate problems to a supervisor.
- Perform duties in accordance with company safety standards.
