Local CDL A or B Driver
About The Position
Mahoney Environmental is hiring a local commercial truck driver to collect used cooking oil and grease trap materials from clients such as restaurants and fast-food businesses. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, with start times between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Routes are local, and drivers are home every night. Starting pay is $32–$34 per hour, paid weekly by direct deposit on Fridays. The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus, paid in installments: $500 after 90 days, $500 after 180 days, and $1,000 after one year. Drivers handle hoses to pump grease trap materials into the truck, clean around tanks, provide customer service, and follow company safety requirements. Work takes place outdoors in different weather conditions and may involve odors from used cooking oil and grease trap material, high-traffic conditions, tight driving areas, and handling grease-coated equipment.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
- At least 2 years of CDL driving experience. Drivers with only 2 years of commercial driving experience must be at least 25 years old due to insurance requirements.
- Air Brake and Tanker endorsements, or willingness to obtain the Tanker endorsement before the start date.
- Good driving record and safety risk rating within Mahoney's acceptable standards.
- DOT-certified medical card.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 100 pounds repetitively.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service and promptly relay customer concerns to a manager.
- Handle 2- to 3-inch hoses to pump grease trap materials into the truck.
- Clean the area around tanks.
- Stay current on Mahoney Safety trainings.
- Maintain a good driving record within Mahoney's acceptable standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
