About The Position

Metro Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Officer for its Southside Branch in Southside, Alabama. The Loan Officer guides clients through the loan process, evaluates loan applications and active loans, and ensures loan agreements comply with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with strong analytical skills who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The position maintains an existing portfolio of commercial and consumer loans and develops commercial business in the market area. Loan Officers explain available loan and credit options, approve loans within specified limits, and refer applications beyond those limits to management for approval. Requirements

Proven work experience in lending.
Understanding of lending procedures and customer service experience.
Strong understanding of banking laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Evaluate applicants’ creditworthiness and eligibility for loans.
Maintain an existing portfolio of commercial and consumer loans.
Develop commercial business in the market area.
Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications.
Review active loans and applications to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Manage and update loan records and send them to loan processing for verification.
Explain available loan types and credit options to customers.
Approve loans within specified limits and refer applications outside those limits to management for approval.
