About The Position

The Loan Officer is responsible for marketing, growing new loans, and extending sound, constructive credit to borrowers and prospective borrowers. The role involves originating and managing land and agriculture-related loans, servicing an existing portfolio, and maintaining customer relationships. Travel is required, along with daily attendance for a full, continuous 8-hour shift. Salary is commensurate with experience and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or an Agriculture discipline, or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong analysis, judgment, and oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Ability to be assertive and decisive in making sound business decisions.
• Travel is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience managing an agricultural production loan portfolio or related practical experience, including Farm Credit experience.

Responsibilities

• Actively market for new loan customers.
• Secure, process, and approve a wide variety of land and agriculturally related loan transactions.
• Supervise and service an existing loan portfolio.
• Attend farm and farm-related meetings sponsored by First South Farm Credit and other organizations.
• Promote good customer relations.
• Perform additional duties as required to meet business requirements.
• Meet the requirement of daily attendance on the job for a full, continuous 8-hour shift.
