About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and helps customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise. The role supports checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance throughout the store; prepares customer and contractor orders; replenishes merchandise; collects carts; and helps keep store and parking lot work areas clean, organized, and safe. Associates use store technology and power equipment safely, follow Lowe’s safety procedures, report hazards and security concerns, and answer customer and employee questions about merchandise, programs, and product information. Depending on the role and department, additional responsibilities may apply. Pro loaders support Pro customer relationships, assist with order staging and loading, and help maintain standards in the Pro loading area and under the Pro canopy. Garden Center loaders assist customers and associates with orders, keep the loading area supported, and partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup. Loader-specific duties include completing required power equipment and spotter training and loading vehicles accurately using techniques suited to order size, weight, and fulfillment needs. Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond promptly to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the role and department.
Communicate stock, special-order merchandise, product features, applications, warranties, and Lowe’s program information to customers; answer questions and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For Pro loading roles, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively assist with loading, staging, and order fulfillment.
For Pro loading roles, remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, respond quickly to loading requests, and assist with large or complex orders.
For Pro loading roles, build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For Pro loading roles, maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
For Pro loading roles, complete required power equipment and spotter training and load vehicles safely and accurately.
For Garden Center loading roles, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders, and remain available throughout the Garden Center loading area.
For Garden Center loading roles, complete required power equipment and spotter training, load vehicles safely and accurately, and support large orders while maintaining product accuracy and safety.
For Garden Center loading roles, partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure customer orders are staged and ready for pickup.
