About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and support throughout the store by helping customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise; assisting with checkout and fulfillment; preparing orders; replenishing merchandise; collecting carts; and maintaining clean, organized, and safe areas inside the store and in the parking lot. The role uses store technology and power equipment as needed, follows Lowe’s safety procedures, and reports safety hazards, theft, and security concerns. Associates also communicate product and program information and provide project guidance when needed. For the Pro-focused Loader role, the associate supports Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, remains available in the Pro loading area, responds promptly to loading requests, helps fulfill large or complex orders, and supports enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings. The associate maintains Pro Standards and completes required power equipment and spotter training. For the Garden Center-focused Loader role, the associate assists customers and associates with loading and orders, remains available throughout the Garden Center loading area, completes required power equipment and spotter training, and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to stage orders for pickup. Across these responsibilities, the associate loads vehicles appropriately and maintains order accuracy, product quality, and safety.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading product or material in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Down stock and replenish merchandise to maintain in-stock conditions.
Support large order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the assigned role and department.
Communicate stock, special order, product feature, application, warranty, and Lowe’s program information, and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For Pro Loader responsibilities: support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively engage Pro customers during loading, staging, and order fulfillment.
For Pro Loader responsibilities: remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy, and respond promptly to loading requests, including large or complex orders.
For Pro Loader responsibilities: build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For Pro Loader responsibilities: maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
For Pro Loader responsibilities: complete required power equipment and spotter training and load vehicles using techniques appropriate to order size, weight, and fulfillment needs.
For Garden Center Loader responsibilities: assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders, and remain available throughout the Garden Center loading area.
