About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and assists customers with locating, selecting, carrying, loading, and fulfilling merchandise orders. The role supports checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance throughout the store; stages and prepares orders; uses store technology and power equipment safely; replenishes merchandise; collects carts; and helps maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. The associate communicates product, stock, special-order, warranty, and program information, provides project guidance when needed, and reports safety, theft, or security concerns. Additional duties may be assigned. For Pro-focused Loader work, the associate supports Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, remains visible and available in the Pro loading area, responds promptly to loading requests, and helps fulfill large or complex orders accurately and safely. The role also supports customer enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings and maintains Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy. For Garden Center Loader work, the associate assists customers and coworkers with loading and order completion, remains available in the Garden Center loading area, supports accurate and safe fulfillment of large orders, and works with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup. Required power equipment and spotter training supports safe loading practices in these role-specific areas.

Requirements

Six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Six months of retail experience.
Six months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
Six months of retail merchandising experience, including zone recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
Six months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in accordance with Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise, and respond to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the assigned role and department.
Communicate stock, special-order, product-feature, application, warranty, and Lowe’s program information, and provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
For Pro Loader responsibilities, support Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion and proactively engage customers during loading, staging, and fulfillment.
Remain visible and available in the Pro loading area, including under the Pro canopy, and respond quickly to loading requests.
Build relationships with repeat Pro customers and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
Maintain Pro Standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy.
Complete required power equipment and spotter training and load customer vehicles using appropriate techniques for order size, weight, and fulfillment needs.
For Garden Center Loader responsibilities, assist customers and associates with loading products and completing orders in the Garden Center.
Remain visible and available to support customer needs throughout the Garden Center loading area.
Support accurate, safe completion of large orders and partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged for pickup.
