About The Position

The Unconventional (TU) is seeking a highly qualified Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator to provide enterprise-wide support to TU programs and customers. The administrator owns the configuration, security posture, and day-to-day health of TU’s enterprise learning platform: a FedRAMP Moderate, Moodle-based training ecosystem serving military and government learners across multiple programs. The role connects the platform with the people who use it, coordinating with the development contractor on updates and patching, partnering with the help desk on escalated issues, and joining the Director in operational and strategic customer discussions. The administrator manages site-level configuration, including settings, roles and capabilities, cohorts, enrollment methods, groups, groupings, and course categories. The role also maintains course templates and shells, backup and restore cycles, competency frameworks, learning plans, completion tracking, prerequisite logic, and enrollment and access procedures. The role administers the platform within its FedRAMP Moderate authorization and follows change-control and configuration-management procedures. It enforces least-privilege access, reviews audit and activity logs, supplies application-level evidence for ATO maintenance, and tracks releases and security advisories to recommend secure, authorized upgrade timing. As the primary technical contact for the development contractor, the administrator translates program needs into testable requests, schedules and communicates maintenance windows, verifies updates in a test environment, and confirms fixes after deployment. The role evaluates plugins and integrations for security, maintenance status, compatibility, and authorization impact; supports approved SCORM, xAPI, LTI, and single sign-on integrations; and maintains an inventory of installed plugins and integrations. The administrator builds and maintains reports on enrollment, completion, assessment results, and qualification status, delivering outputs to the registrar and data manager. The role configures certificates and badges, maintains platform documentation and change logs, checks platform settings and course shells against Section 508 accessibility requirements, and flags content issues to the ISD team. The position provides Tier 2 support for escalated configuration, access, and integration issues; trains help-desk staff, instructors, and program staff; and advises customers and the ISD team on platform capabilities. The ISD team owns learning design, while the data manager owns analysis and interpretation of report outputs. The role is remote within the Continental United States, during business hours. Some travel may be required. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) or higher security clearance.
