About The Position

This position works with livestock hogs, including driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning them while maintaining accurate inventories and head counts. The role also involves light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with livestock. Hogs must be moved safely and effectively with minimum stress, in accordance with humane handling guidelines and company policy. The employee may perform other duties as directed by the supervisor. All team members are responsible for safety, including personal safety and food safety. The position is based in Storm Lake, Iowa, and is assigned to B shift.

Requirements

At least one year of prior experience working with and handling livestock in loading and unloading operations.
Experience operating skid loaders and forklifts.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with team members at all levels and government officials.
Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift 70 pounds or more unassisted.
Ability to stand for extended periods of 8 to 10 hours, excluding break time.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic experience handling livestock in a meat-industry procurement area.
