B-Shift Livestock Handler 4 (Yards) - Storm Lake, Iowa
About The Position
This position works with hogs and is responsible for driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning livestock while maintaining accurate inventories and head counts. The role also includes light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with livestock. Hogs must be moved safely and effectively with minimal stress, following all humane handling guidelines and policies. The employee may perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. All Tyson team members are responsible for safety, including personal safety and food safety. The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Requirements
- At least one year of prior experience working with and handling livestock in loading and unloading operations.
- Experience operating skid loaders and forklifts.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with team members at all levels and government officials.
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds or more unassisted and stand for extended periods of 8 to 10 hours, excluding break time.

Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic experience with livestock handling in a meat-industry procurement area.
- Prior knowledge and experience with humane animal handling procedures, processes, and general procurement policies.
- Basic computer knowledge.
