About The Position

The Live Events & Streaming Producer coordinates technical planning and production support for PLI’s onsite, offsite, remote, and hybrid events. The role assesses venue capabilities, defines production requirements, and coordinates resources to meet PLI’s standards, budgets, and programming schedules. As the primary contact for offsite production planning, this position keeps vendors and internal teams aligned on technical timelines, deliverables, and onsite expectations.

The Producer supports programs from planning through completion, coordinating vendors, technical teams, equipment, testing, event delivery, recordings, and follow-up. The role includes travel of up to 35% to support offsite programs. When not traveling for or overseeing offsite productions, the employee is expected to maintain an onsite presence in PLI’s New York City office on the established hybrid schedule.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of technical experience in the Corporate Staging or Broadcast industry.
• Proficiency in event staging, audio reinforcement, production lighting, video systems, and displays.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong client relationship skills.
• Experience with operational logistics, budgets, and cost control.
• Ability to manage multiple complex responsibilities in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
• MS Office and Salesforce experience required.
• Valid passport for international travel.
• Ability to travel up to 35% may be required to support offsite programs.
• When not traveling for or overseeing offsite productions, ability to maintain onsite presence in PLI’s New York City office on the established hybrid schedule.

Nice To Haves

• 3 or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Technical diagram knowledge or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical and logistical contact for Producers, Project Managers, PLI Attorneys, and Multimedia staff during program planning.
• Collaborate with Programs, Conference, and technical teams to define production requirements, coordinate appropriate A/V equipment, and develop show documentation.
• Manage third-party vendors, evaluating service quality, cost, and alignment with program requirements.
• Recommend production solutions that create a cohesive experience for onsite and virtual audiences.
• Coordinate technical testing and readiness with PLI’s Streaming Engineer and support personnel, resolving issues before the program.
• Oversee A/V vendors, presentation, and streaming equipment to deliver and record offsite programs, remote webcasts, and hybrid meetings in accordance with established protocols.
• Monitor audio, video, and stream quality throughout the program, including the end-user viewing experience.
• Troubleshoot technical and operational issues, engaging the Streaming Engineer, vendors, and technical support personnel as needed.
• Provide responsive support to faculty, clients, and production teams to ensure smooth program delivery and strong working relationships.
• Deliver properly formatted recordings and supporting materials to Multimedia’s Edit & Publish team for PLI On Demand products.
• Review stream and recording quality, document technical issues and resolutions, and coordinate any necessary follow-up.
• Assess vendor performance, service value, and production outcomes; maintain clear event documentation and recommend improvements for future programs.
• Take ownership of assigned programs and tasks from planning through completion, including timely delivery of materials, resolution of outstanding issues, and confirmation that required follow-up is complete.
• Maintain current production plans and action lists that identify deliverables, responsible parties, due dates, and open issues; follow up with vendors and internal teams to keep commitments on schedule.
• Consistently communicate progress on assigned work to the Postproduction Manager and relevant departments at agreed checkpoints and whenever deadlines, scope, costs, or program readiness change.
• Identify and promptly escalate technical risks, delays, resource gaps, and unresolved issues before they affect program delivery; provide recommended next steps and communicate the outcome.
• Work independently with limited supervision, prioritize responsibilities, meet agreed deadlines, and seek guidance promptly when required.
• Respond to program-related requests within agreed timeframes and coordinate handoffs and coverage with the manager so time-sensitive responsibilities are addressed during travel or absence.
• Work with PLI’s Streaming Engineer, Multimedia staff, and other appropriate teams to identify and resolve problems affecting live viewing and recorded products.
• Track and communicate issues, actions taken, and resolution status with responsible teams; follow up through resolution or confirmed handoff and identify recurring problems requiring corrective action.
• Travel up to 35% as required to support offsite programs.
• Coordinate office attendance, travel, and program coverage with the Postproduction Manager, and communicate schedule changes in advance.
