About The Position

The Streaming Producer will partner with the PM streaming host to organize and produce daily streaming coverage and develop engaging, conversational live-streaming concepts for Tampa Bay audiences. The role also produces Late Debate, a program focused on top Florida news topics and designed around live audience participation and real-time interaction. The goal is to create programming that encourages viewers to actively participate.

This hands-on position calls for strong news judgment, writing, storytelling, and real-time editorial decision-making. The producer develops content for FOX 13 Tampa Bay and FOX LOCAL, identifies local stories, creates audience-focused formats, manages video and production workflows, and helps ensure streams and newscasts meet quality, accuracy, and editorial standards. The role requires flexibility for changing schedules and breaking-news coverage.

Work takes place in a fast-paced newsroom and live-production environment. The position may involve onsite collaboration across newsroom, studio, control-room, and digital-production areas, as well as occasional field work or travel within Tampa Bay. Evening, overnight, weekend, holiday, and extended-hour work may be required, and schedules may change based on news and station needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Media, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in producing, digital journalism, streaming, or a related newsroom role.
• Experience developing and publishing news content for digital and social platforms.
• Strong writing, editing, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
• Excellent news judgment and commitment to factual accuracy.
• Ability to generate creative ideas and present information in an original and engaging way.
• Ability to think quickly, ask probing questions, and make sound editorial decisions in real time.
• Familiarity with live-streaming production, digital publishing, video editing, and social media workflows.
• Ability to quickly learn and effectively use newsroom, editing, publishing, and production software systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Ability to respond well to direction, feedback, and changing priorities.
• Dependability, professionalism, and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience line producing a live newscast or stream.
• Experience producing conversational, interview-driven, or audience-interactive programming.
• Experience developing live audience participation or interactive elements for streaming, digital, or social programming.
• Experience with FOX LOCAL, CTV, OTT, or other streaming platforms.
• Experience with live control-room operations or newsroom automation systems.
• Experience using analytics to evaluate content performance and inform editorial decisions.
• Experience creating short-form vertical video for social platforms.
• Experience covering Tampa Bay and Florida news, communities, politics, public safety, weather, culture, or community issues.
• Familiarity with video-editing, graphics, rundown, content-management, and social-publishing tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Organize and produce daily PM streaming coverage in partnership with the PM streaming host.
• Produce Late Debate by developing timely Florida-focused topics, segments, guests, and opportunities for live audience participation and real-time interaction.
• Develop and produce engaging live and on-demand streaming content for FOX 13 Tampa Bay and FOX LOCAL.
• Identify and develop local Tampa Bay and Florida stories relevant to audiences.
• Develop conversational streaming concepts, interview questions, segments, and audience-focused formats.
• Create opportunities for viewers to participate in live streams and incorporate audience interaction in real time.
• Identify compelling angles, ask thoughtful follow-up questions, and guide conversations in real time.
• Source, organize, and prepare video, graphics, user-generated content, and other visual elements.
• Manage video-editing and content-production workflows from concept through publication.
• Write clear, compelling, and accurate content for digital, streaming, and linear platforms.
• Ensure live streams and newscasts run smoothly while maintaining quality, accuracy, and editorial standards.
• Collaborate with reporters, anchors, producers, directors, photographers, editors, and digital teams.
• Monitor audience engagement and use performance insights to improve content and coverage.
• Publish and promote content across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X/Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and emerging platforms.
• Respond quickly and effectively to breaking news, developing stories, and changing editorial priorities.
• Maintain journalistic ethics, accuracy, fairness, and commitment to community service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
