About The Position

Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join our Cleveland office. This person must have prior litigation secretarial experience in a law firm environment and possess strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. This role requires a team-oriented professional who is flexible, detail-oriented, and able to support multiple attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times. This position is going to be in the office five days per week.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Ohio and Federal court rules and procedures
  • Minimum of three years of litigation legal secretary or legal assistant experience within a law firm environment
  • Experience with e-filings and other court filing procedures
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including document styling, tables, bookmarking, and formatting
  • Strong proofreading and editing abilities with exceptional attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with attorneys, clients, and co-workers
  • Strong sense of professionalism, responsiveness, and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Prepare court filings for state, federal, and appellate courts, including electronic and traditional filings
  • Proofread and edit legal documents with strong attention to detail, formatting, and grammar accuracy
  • Create tables of authorities and tables of contents for briefs and other legal documents
  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, court appearances, client meetings, and attorney meetings
  • Maintain attorney calendars and assist with travel arrangements as needed
  • Open new client matters, assist with conflict checks, and maintain electronic and physical client files
  • Prepare and process billing, expense reports, and other administrative requests
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, attorneys, and internal staff
  • Prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive assignments in a high-volume environment
  • Work collaboratively with administrative support staff and contribute to overall team and office objectives
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client matters, attorney work product, and firm information
