About The Position

This position is responsible for providing specialized instructional support to students to improve literacy and language skills. The specialist will work with students identified as needing intervention, developing and implementing targeted strategies to enhance reading, writing, and communication abilities. This role involves collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure student success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field.
• Valid Nevada teaching license or appropriate endorsement.
• Experience working with students in literacy and language development.
• Knowledge of evidence-based intervention strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with Response to Intervention (RTI) models.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct literacy and language intervention to students.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans.
• Assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student learning.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and strategies.
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
• Participate in professional development activities.
