Linen Distribution Worker
About The Position
Under general supervision, the Linen Distribution Worker collects soiled linen from user-area soiled-linen utility rooms and transports soiled-linen carts to the primary hold area. The worker transports clean linen to user areas on a scheduled route, stocks and restocks clean linen as needed, and assists the truck driver with loading soiled-linen carts and unloading clean-linen carts. The role includes interacting with nursing staff to resolve routine linen-related problems and advising the department Leader or Supervisor of reported linen problems. The worker maintains the neatness and cleanliness of clean and soiled user-area utility rooms and performs other duties assigned by the department Supervisor. The position is responsible for performing assigned duties under general supervision and meeting and maintaining production and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Collect soiled linen from user-area soiled-linen utility rooms.
- Transport soiled-linen carts to the primary hold area.
- Transport clean linen to user areas according to a scheduled route.
- Stock and restock clean linen as required.
- Assist the truck driver with loading soiled-linen carts and unloading clean-linen carts.
- Interact with user-area nursing staff to resolve routine linen-related problems.
- Keep the department Leader or Supervisor advised of reported linen problems.
- Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of clean and soiled user-area utility rooms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department Supervisor.
- Meet and maintain production and quality standards for assigned duties.
