About The Position

Under the direction and guidance of the Airport Operations Director, the Line Service Technician is responsible for a safe, compliant, and efficient Airport operation for aircraft fueling and ground handling and services to customers. This role performs routine checks of the Airport and is responsible for guiding, towing, parking, and greeting aircraft arriving and/or departing the Airport. The technician ensures fuel trucks are stocked and prepared to distribute fuel safely and efficiently while performing quality control checks. They also conduct visual inspections for any damage to aircraft, perform light maintenance, and provide customer service, which may include handling luggage, providing transportation between gates or terminals, giving patrons directions, interacting with lobby attendants, engaging with pilots, and greeting passengers. Other duties may be requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of aircraft and aircraft servicing techniques.
  • General knowledge of aircraft fueling and ground handling techniques.
  • Knowledge of aviation and ground base radio systems.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and independently.
  • Must have the ability to operate all types of equipment associated with aircraft fueling operation and airport maintenance programs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
  • Requires considerable physical activity including walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, standing, grasping, balancing, climbing, kneeling and crouching.
  • Visual acuity is required to inspect for defects and operate automotive equipment.
  • Hearing sufficient to accurately perceive information at normal spoken word levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of petroleum bulk fuel storage requirements and system, and airport operations preferred.
  • Experience with large truck and heavy-duty equipment operation also preferred.
  • Aviation experience preferred.
