About The Position

Genesis Hospitality is seeking an experienced, energetic, and team-oriented full-time Line Cook. The role prepares and serves food across kitchen areas while following recipes, portion controls, presentation specifications, food-safety guidelines, and quality standards. The Line Cook maintains a clean, organized, safe, and sanitary workstation and kitchen, uses time and equipment efficiently to minimize waste, and follows department policies and safety procedures. The position requires working a variety of shifts, including weekends, mornings, and evenings, and performing other responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, mornings, and evenings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-developed multitasking and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Ability to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Frequently able to stand and walk.
• Close, distance, and color vision, and ability to focus.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
• Execute food service and production for any or all kitchen areas.
• Recognize quality standards for fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager.
• Maintain an assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Handle food according to local health department guidelines and proper food-handling techniques.
• Coordinate the use of time, materials, and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense.
• Maintain acceptable personal hygiene and comply with the department’s dress code.
• Follow safety regulations and report injuries, unsafe conditions, or unsafe work practices to a supervisor.
• Attend assigned in-service training and education sessions.
