About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Line Cook for Sortino's Italian Kitchen. The role assists the restaurant Chef with preparing and completing food items. The Line Cook prepares high-quality, flavorful meals consistently and contributes to a satisfying and memorable guest dining experience while supporting Kalahari's commitment to delivering extraordinary guest experiences.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of related progressive experience as a culinary graduate and/or at least 1 year of progressive culinary experience in a hotel restaurant, food outlet facility, or related field is helpful.
• A state-certified proper food-handling certificate may be required by state or local law.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, including flat grills, pasta wells, steam tables, browning ovens, cheese choppers or graters, steam jackets, ovens, top burners, pizza and dessert coolers, slicers, broilers, steamers, and knives.
• Ability to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverage products consistently according to facility recipes and standards for portioning, cooking, timing, serving, and presentation.
• Keep all equipment clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following culinary preventative maintenance programs.
• Comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations related to health, safety, and labor requirements in kitchen areas.
