About The Position
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Host for Sortino’s Italian Kitchen. The Host provides a warm, friendly greeting and responsive service to dining guests, and manages efficient, timely seating while taking guests’ wishes into account. The role helps create a positive first impression through professionalism and a helpful attitude, while supporting associates and contributing to an extraordinary guest experience.
Requirements
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and phone system.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Nice To Haves
- General food and beverage knowledge, including at least one year of front-of-the-house operations experience.
- Bilingual skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly manner and escort them to the assigned dining area.
- Rotate tables when seating guests throughout the shift.
- Announce the name and number of each party when tables become available, using a courteous, friendly, pleasant, professional, and clear tone.
- Present menus and announce the server’s name when seating guests.
- Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
- Assist fellow associates, including servers, bussers, co-hosts or hostesses, and management, as situations arise.
- Answer the telephone using the proper Kalahari Resort verbiage.
