About The Position

The Line Cook will work directly with the back of house team and is responsible for managing the timely preparation of food items during service, some prep and following recipes and other established guidelines. This position also ensures that all food has been properly prepared according to health safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must be a reliable team player who shows up ready to support the kitchen and communicate effectively.
  • Must be highly organized and keep a clean, efficient station in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be skilled on the line with strong cooking fundamentals and can execute consistently under pressure.
  • Must be able to work positively with all staff members, independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to multi-task and keep calm in high pressure situations.
  • Must have very strong verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking including grill and sauté preferred.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Have the ability to work well under pressure and as a team.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to maintain a high quality of friendly and attentive service to our patrons.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand for up to six hours at a time and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • A willingness to commit to the mission, vision, and values of the theater.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time.

  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state and/or federal laws.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with other cooks, food runners and servers to coordinate various needs, dietary restrictions and 86 items.
  • Ensure that your station is kept clean, organized and closed properly at end of shift.
  • General cleaning & maintenance of work areas.
  • Complete all assigned daily tasks & organize, put away & rotate orders as needed.
  • Comply with health and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure food is prepared timely, accurately and consistently.
