About The Position

See Ya Later Ranch, located in Okanagan Falls, is one of the oldest and largest estate wineries in the Okanagan and a member of the Great Estates Okanagan. The Line Cook/Kitchen Porter position is a seasonal hourly contract from May to October, focusing on the Patio Restaurant & Events. As a Line Cook, the role involves contributing to the dining experience by preparing and executing daily lunch service and private events, ensuring high-quality food preparation, production, and presentation. The role also includes comprehensive kitchen porter duties such as cleaning, sanitizing, unloading deliveries, and maintaining kitchenware readiness. Requirements

  • Courteous, friendly, professional attitude – demonstrated Emotional Intelligence
  • Minimum one year experience working in a kitchen with desire to become more proficient
  • Able to lift 40lbs, work in hot summer temperatures & stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work weekends throughout the season and evenings for weddings and other events

Responsibilities

  • Work as a part of a team to prepare and execute daily lunch service and private events
  • Prepare, portion and stock food station as required
  • Ensure that the preparation, production, and presentation of food are always of the highest quality
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen area, including pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, and equipment
  • Unloading and putting away deliveries and stock
  • Emptying bins, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Maintain readiness of kitchenware and kitchen laundry
  • Daily opening, closing and cleaning duties as requested by our Winery Chef and/or Sous Chef
