About The Position

The Line Cook III prepares all menu items at an assigned station with care and respect for ingredients, technique, and fellow associates. The role sets an example of the pride and professionalism expected in a high-caliber culinary environment. The position is at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California, and is full-time, with day and evening shifts.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire; the employer provides the training at its expense.
• Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods, including an entire shift, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality is never compromised and service is not delayed, supporting a positive guest experience.
• Maintain fresh, organized mise en place.
• Assist other cooks in achieving their goals and foster teamwork and camaraderie.
• Prepare and present menu items at the assigned station.
• Maintain cleanliness in accordance with Health Department and hotel standards.
• Prepare entrees according to restaurant standards by consistently following recipes and established techniques.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
• Rotate stock to maintain freshness and eliminate waste.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Follow established safety and emergency procedures.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.
