About The Position

Markertek, a division of Tower Products Incorporated, is a 100% employee-owned company seeking dependable, motivated individuals for a Light Manufacturing Assembly (LMA) Technician role. This position is crucial for assembling and manufacturing products within the department, working closely with the production manager or engineering team to achieve company goals. The role involves product assembly, using hand tools and soldering equipment for connector and component termination, and referencing job lists for customer orders and stock replenishment. Employees will use product samples, mechanical diagrams, and photo-based assembly documentation to ensure products meet assembly requirements. The company provides state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, including for printed circuit board assembly, hand tools, soldering equipment, and assembly procedures. Assemblers are responsible for inspecting and testing their work according to quality system requirements, ensuring accuracy, proper soldering/crimping, and signing off on completed work with time and date.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic connector and cabinet assembly.
  • Process small wire assemblies, including cutting, stripping, tinning, and soldering.
  • Produce high-quality products in a timely manner.
  • Take ownership of completed work and ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Perform mechanical inspections and basic continuity testing before submitting work for final testing and approval.
  • Communicate effectively to support and continuously improve quality throughout the assembly process.
  • Use provided hand tools, fiber processing equipment, and assembly procedures/instructions.
  • Work effectively in manufacturing and casual clean room environments.
  • Safely work around moving mechanical equipment, such as cable reelers.
  • Follow safe lifting practices when moving materials and equipment.
  • Ability to frequently walk, sit, use hands, and handle tools.
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Safely lift and move materials as needed, following established safe lifting practices.
  • Read, understand, and follow internal procedures, work instructions, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
