About The Position

Sagora Senior Living is seeking a creative, high-energy Lifestyle Director for its Lyndale Abilene senior living community. The role plans and delivers meaningful activities and events tailored to residents’ individual needs, interests, and capabilities. The Lifestyle Director supports resident engagement, community life, transportation, new resident orientation, volunteer coordination, and operation of the community store. The position is full-time, on the first shift, with rotating weekends and some evening and weekend work for special events.

Requirements

• Affinity toward senior adults.
• Organization and customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with residents, families, guests, and other associates.
• Must possess or be willing to acquire a valid driver’s license and a Commercial Driver’s License where necessary.
• Must work some evenings and weekends for special events.

Nice To Haves

• One year of work experience in the senior housing industry or event planning is preferred.
• A degree or certification in gerontological studies, recreation, or a related program.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement resident activities according to residents’ needs.
• Maintain the monthly activities calendar and assist the Marketing Director with the community newsletter.
• Coordinate resident transportation for activities, shopping, doctor trips, and other needs.
• Assist with new move-ins and conduct new resident orientation.
• Establish and coordinate the Community Resident Council and attend all meetings.
• Supervise and operate the community’s store.
• Listen and respond to resident problems, complaints, suggestions, and ideas regarding activities.
• Coordinate the use of volunteers.
• Document the history of the community with photographs and scrapbooks.
• Operate activities within budget.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned and perform other duties assigned by the management team.
