About The Position

Tierney is seeking a vigilant and responsible Lifeguard in Barnegat, New Jersey. The role focuses on protecting patrons by monitoring swimming areas, enforcing safety rules, and responding promptly to emergencies. The position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. Lifeguards must be prepared to stand or sit for extended periods and respond quickly to emergencies.

Requirements

• Current lifeguard certification, such as American Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
• Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be at least 16 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Previous lifeguard experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimming areas to ensure the safety of all guests.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid or CPR as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment by inspecting equipment and reporting hazards.
• Assist guests and answer questions while providing excellent customer service.
• Attend required training sessions and maintain current lifeguard certifications.
