About The Position

The Northeast Family YMCA is seeking individuals age 18 or older to work as lifeguards. Lifeguards help ensure the safety of pool participants, apply pool and aquatic-area safety procedures, and keep the pool deck organized and clean. The role offers opportunities to develop communication, leadership, and responsibility skills, with support from the YMCA leadership team and opportunities to learn and grow.

Requirements

• Be age 18 or older.
• Have an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or be able to pass the course.
• Have strong swimming skills and a passion for water safety.
• Be available on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and surveillance of all pool participants.
• Understand and apply organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing.
