About The Position
The YMCA of Greater Toledo is hiring a part-time Lifeguard to help keep members safe in and around the pool. The role involves monitoring swimmers and the pool area, identifying potential risks, and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for swimmers of all ages. The position is onsite at a YMCA branch. Available shifts include Early Bird (5 a.m.–9 a.m.) and daytime (9 a.m.–2 p.m.).
Requirements
- At least 15 years old.
- Able to swim 250 yards and demonstrate multiple swim strokes.
- Lifeguarding Certification.
- Adult, Child, and Infant CPR certification (Professional Rescue or Healthcare Provider).
- First Aid certification.
- Oxygen Administration certification.
- Ability to operate an AED.
- Commitment to ongoing training and maintaining required certifications.
Responsibilities
- Monitor swimmers and the pool area to help ensure member safety.
- Spot potential risks and help keep the pool area secure.
- Respond effectively to emergencies using required safety skills and certifications.
- Maintain required certifications through ongoing training.
