About The Position

SafeSplash is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to oversee the safety of employees and customers and help maintain a safe environment for students, parents, and staff. The Lifeguard reports directly to the General Manager and contributes to a positive customer experience while supporting the safety of swimmers. This role requires at least 10 hours per week; seasonality may affect hours. Weekday, weeknight, and weekend availability is required. The work is on-site.

Requirements

Lifeguard certification is required and must be maintained throughout employment; training is available.
Current CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained; training is available.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Comfort working around water and interacting with children and parents.
Ability to lift and push up to 50 lbs.
Ability to remain on one's feet for long periods.
Availability to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Maintain constant surveillance to ensure customer safety and report unsafe activities, equipment, or instruction to management.
Promptly provide feedback to instructors who are outside curriculum safety requirements, including safety distances and holds.
Act immediately and appropriately to protect customers during emergencies.
Provide emergency care and treatment as required until emergency medical services arrive.
Prepare appropriate incident reports.
Maintain a professional and engaging attitude.
Attend monthly in-services to continue developing lifeguarding skills.
Deliver a safe environment and a world-class experience for swimmers.
Learn the curriculum, including its safety requirements, within 30 days of employment.
