About The Position
Promote the safety and well-being of guests using the pool facilities in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards. Monitor pool activity, enforce safety rules, assist distressed swimmers, and respond to emergencies with trained and authorized first aid. Provide resort information to guests and perform requested maintenance and care of facilities and equipment. Follow HHM’s EarthView sustainability practices and workplace safety requirements, including protective equipment, MSDS, and OSHA standards. The work schedule varies and may include holidays and weekends. The role requires extended periods of standing and exposure to chlorine and other water-purification chemicals. A potential career path is Lifeguard Supervisor and then Recreations Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard License required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous lifeguard experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor guest activity in the pool area to ensure safe use of the pool.
- Apply and consistently enforce pool rules and regulations.
- Assist distressed swimmers in emergency swimming situations.
- Coordinate emergency procedures and provide first aid in emergency situations as trained and authorized.
- Respond to guest inquiries and provide resort information upon request.
- Perform general maintenance and care of facilities and equipment as requested.
- Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
- Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
