Lifeguard Team Member - Northeast Family YMCA
About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals age 18+ to serve as lifeguards at the Northeast Family YMCA. This role offers the opportunity to develop valuable skills such as communication, leadership, and responsibility. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and surveillance of all pool participants, understanding and applying organizational safety procedures, and maintaining the cleanliness of the pool deck and aquatic areas. You can expect support from an amazing leadership team, opportunities to learn and grow within the YMCA, and the chance to be part of a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the community.
Requirements
- Age 18+
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass the course
- Passionate about safety around water and strong swim skills
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and surveillance of all pool participants
- Understanding and applying organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas
- Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing
