Greenbush Pool: Lifeguard & Swim Instructor
About The Position
Greenbush Pool is seeking Lifeguards and Swim Instructors. This role offers flexibility with an Early Wage Access (EWA) program, allowing employees to access a portion of their earned wages on demand. The position requires individuals to be at least 16 years old and possess basic computer skills, strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. The ability to relate to diverse community groups is essential. Required trainings include New Employee Orientation, Sexual Harassment, ALICE (Active Shooter), and Bloodborne Pathogens, to be completed within 90 days of hire. Lifeguard positions require a valid lifeguard certification and demonstration of YMCA lifeguard skills.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 or older (with valid NYS working papers for minors)
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
- Ability to pass the CDYMCA swim test, as administered by the Aquatic Director or designated individual
- Basic computer skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to relate to diverse groups in the community
- Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration (completed within 30 days of hire)
- New Employee Orientation, Sexual Harassment, ALICE (Active Shooter), and Bloodborne Pathogens trainings (completed within 90 days of hire)
- Valid lifeguard certification (within 30 days of hire) for Lifeguard positions
- Demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards for Lifeguard positions
Responsibilities
- Maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
