About The Position

The Lifeguard / Swim Instructor helps ensure the safety and well-being of participants in aquatic activities while providing swimming and water-safety instruction. The role involves monitoring the pool for hazards while leading lessons for individuals or groups, and promoting a safe, enjoyable environment where participants can develop swimming skills and learn water-safety practices. The position also includes maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the aquatic facility. Training is offered for this role.

Requirements

• Strong swimming abilities.
• Thorough understanding of water-safety protocols.
• Communication skills to convey instructions and safety information clearly to participants of all ages.
• Problem-solving skills to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching swimming lessons.
• Additional certifications in water safety or coaching.
• Experience working with diverse age groups and abilities.
• Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the safety of pool users and enforce facility rules and regulations.
• Provide swimming instruction to individuals and groups with varying skill levels.
• Perform rescues and administer first aid or CPR as necessary.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment.
• Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions to support preparedness.
