About The Position

Swim Gowanus, LLC is hiring aquatic professionals for a new, state-of-the-art facility. The role works under general supervision to help ensure patrons’ safety by preventing and responding to emergencies. The facility teaches children ages 4 months to 12 years to swim and be safer in and around the water, using a confidence-building curriculum. Team members are expected to contribute to a positive experience for students, families, and colleagues, and to advance through cross-training in multiple roles. Paid on-the-job training, flexible scheduling, and a supportive team culture are offered.

Requirements

• Current Lifeguard certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work with children.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Provide proof of vaccination.

Nice To Haves

• Prior related leadership and teaching experience, including supervisory roles, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons and act immediately and appropriately to protect guests in an accident or emergency.
• Communicate facility rules to patrons fairly and consistently.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as needed until emergency medical services arrive.
• Contact medical services by the most appropriate means when necessary.
• Advance through cross-training in multiple roles and substitute when necessary.
• Provide a Golden Experience to students, families, and team members.
