About The Position

Prolific is hiring an experienced lifecycle marketer for a three-month fixed-term contract to build and scale the foundations of its self-serve lifecycle programme. The role covers onboarding, activation, retention and reactivation across email and in-app messaging, as well as defining product-qualified signals to help Sales identify accounts worth contacting. The marketer will partner with Product, Customer Success, Sales/RevOps and Product Marketing, working independently to deliver programmes, dashboards and documentation in a fast-moving environment. This is a product-led, self-serve marketing role. The focus is on influencing user behaviour in and around the product, rather than demand generation, MQL/SQL pipeline, events or sales-led nurture. The contract is full-time for three months, with potential to extend depending on business needs. In the first month, the role will audit lifecycle programmes, journeys, segmentation and tools; map the self-serve journey by customer segment; identify activation and retention gaps; agree priorities and success metrics with partner teams; and ship at least one quick win. In the following months, the role will build and launch onboarding, activation, retention, top-up and reactivation programmes; define and validate PQL and expansion signals with Sales/RevOps; establish structured experimentation; report results; and document lifecycle processes and logic.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, retention or growth marketing at a product-led or self-serve company, with a record of improving activation, retention or expansion metrics.
  • Prior contract, consulting or agency experience, or a clear record of independently delivering scoped work to a deadline.
  • Hands-on ownership of lifecycle programmes for a freemium, free-trial or pay-as-you-go funnel.
  • Strong experience with email/CRM platforms such as HubSpot or equivalent, and in-product messaging tools such as Pendo, Appcues, Intercom, Braze, Customer.io, Iterable or similar.
  • Experience defining activation, building behavioural segments and triggers, and using product usage data to drive messaging.
  • Analytical fluency in cohort analysis, activation and retention curves, funnel conversion and LTV; ability to run analyses independently in HubSpot, Hex or equivalent without a data team.
  • Experience designing and running experiments and assessing which results are reliable.
  • Experience partnering with Sales/RevOps on PQL or usage-based handoff.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to prioritise, push back and manage stakeholders without close supervision.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity in a small, high-output team.

Responsibilities

  • Audit current lifecycle programmes, journeys, segmentation and tooling, including HubSpot, Pendo and Hex.
  • Map the self-serve journey by customer segment and identify key activation and retention gaps.
  • Agree a prioritised roadmap and success metrics with Growth Marketing, Product and Customer Success.
  • Ship at least one early improvement, such as a fix to an onboarding email or in-app message.
  • Design, build and launch onboarding and activation programmes across email and in-app messaging to reduce time to first value.
  • Launch retention, top-up, reactivation and win-back flows for lapsed and dormant users.
  • Define behavioural PQL and expansion signals with Sales/RevOps, validate them against conversion outcomes, and establish a CRM handoff process.
  • Start a structured experimentation programme across onboarding, email and in-app messaging.
  • Report on programme results, learnings and experiment outcomes.
  • Document journeys, segmentation logic, triggers, PQL definitions and naming conventions.
