About The Position

The enthusiastic DeciBio Consulting (“DeciBio”) Strategy Consulting team is seeking multi-faceted Life Science Summer Analysts who bring unique perspectives while solving business riddles. The Analyst position is intended to be based at our Los Angeles HQ office. Summer start date accommodative of academic calendars. DeciBio is a precision medicine-focused Strategy Consulting firm with separate Data Intelligence divisions that develop novel software and other sources of market intelligence, and a Venture Capital division that is a stakeholder supporting emerging technologies. DeciBio's mission is to accelerate innovation in precision medicine. Our projects span a range of markets, including Life Science Research Tools (Genomics/NGS, proteomics, cellomics), Diagnostics (Oncology, e.g., liquid biopsies, and non-oncology, e.g., infectious diseases, rare diseases, NIPT) diagnostic assays and services, Pharma (Cell & gene therapies, Immuno-Oncology (I/O), CAR-T), and Healthcare IT (Digital Pathology, real world data/evidence (RWD/E), and patient-centered technology solutions). Our clients range from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms and projects may have global scope though we do most of our work from our offices in Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and London. Requirements

  • Applicants must be dedicated to the Life Sciences / Biosciences field, as demonstrated by work history and field of study (e.g., Bioengineering, Biology, Biochemical Engineering, Molecular Biology).
  • Higher-level thinking (e.g., Intuition, emotional intelligence (EQ), a natural "business sense," and ideation prowess).
  • An athletic mind (e.g., agile, flexible, and multi-faceted, with analytical rigor/strength) that is energized by a fast-paced work environment with regular deadlines.
  • A community builder with proactive communication skills.
  • A love for the life sciences and a thought leadership mindset.
  • An entrepreneurial hunger for work and continuous personal improvement.
  • A demonstrated interest in business strategy.
  • On track for an undergraduate or graduate degree in an applicable Life Science field, graduating by August 2027.
  • Superb presentation, writing, and analytical abilities (including in MS Office suite).
  • Authorization to lawfully work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and conduct primary research campaigns (e.g., interviews) using business intuition, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence.
  • Conduct secondary research (e.g., reviewing technical and professional publications, etc.) regarding competitors, patients, customers, products, markets, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members to find trends, conclusions, and recommendations based on your research, Excel models, and other data analyses.
  • Create detailed PowerPoint presentations that paint the strategic story, and present these deliverables to clients.
  • Manage administrative aspects of projects, and travel 0-5% of the time.
