About The Position

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) is a leading provider of legacy reinsurance solutions, working with top insurance companies to execute transformational solutions for legacy Life & Annuity and P&C lines. The company manages a general account of approximately $111 billion and is backed by sophisticated institutional investors. Fortitude Re offers a 10-week Internship Development Program designed to allow college students to apply their academic knowledge. This internship provides an opportunity to enhance actuarial foundations, gain industry insight, and contribute to meaningful business roles. The internship will be based in the Nashville, TN office from June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027.

Requirements

Rising seniors who have excelled in previous work experience.
Demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.
Possess strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiastic about and committed to the insurance industry.
Must graduate between November 2026 and July 2027.
Bold thinkers with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Candidates must be available to work in Nashville for all 10-weeks of the program.

Nice To Haves

Preference will be given to candidates who have already passed at least one actuarial exam administered by the Society of Actuaries.
Relocation assistance will be provided if the candidate is not currently based in or around Nashville.

Responsibilities

Actuarial professionals at Fortitude Re play a pivotal role in driving results through expertise in quantitative analysis, insurance pricing, valuation, and risk quantification.
The Life Actuarial team is responsible for determining reserve valuations and financial reporting.
Develop long-term projections of insurance products for internal analytical and regulatory purposes.
Perform experience studies.
Set assumptions for Life, Annuity, and Accident & Health blocks of insurance.
Join the life actuarial team to gain core technical knowledge and professional skills across business lines.
Complete a capstone project on a cross-functional team.
Participate in the comprehensive Internship Development Program, including classes on various business aspects, volunteer opportunities, presentations, panels, and social events.
