About The Position

The Life Insurance Specialist drives growth by building relationships, developing leads, and helping members protect their futures through Life, Health, Annuity, Membership, and Financial Services products. The role combines consultative sales, product knowledge, and customer service to identify customer needs, close sales, meet production goals, and support long-term member satisfaction. The position works primarily within an ACG branch and collaborates with branch partners to maximize referrals and cross-selling opportunities. The role is based at 3415 E Saginaw St Ste G, Lansing, MI 48912, and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is hourly and exempt/non-exempt status is listed as hourly. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered, paid in two installments: $2,500 after 30 days of employment and $2,500 after 90 days. Compensation includes base pay and commissions, with stated average earnings of $75,000–$100,000 and unlimited income potential. The position is open to applications on an ongoing basis and may close once a qualified candidate pool is identified.

Requirements

Active, valid State Life license.
Ability to take and pass LUTC or CLU coursework.
Maintain the Life and Health licenses required to sell products.
Qualify for, obtain, and maintain all applicable state licenses and appointments required for selling and/or servicing Auto Club Group Membership products.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience with a proven record of successfully soliciting and selling life insurance products.
Experience selling intangible products.
Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to perform the duties described in the job description, with reasonable accommodations available for otherwise qualified applicants as needed.
Consent to a background and drug screen if offered employment.

Responsibilities

Solicit and sell Life and Health insurance and Annuity products, primarily within an ACG branch location and under minimal supervision.
Develop leads and prospects for new accounts through phone calls, mailings, referrals, networking, website inquiries, and seminars.
Prepare proposals and close sales of Life, Health, Annuity, Membership, and Financial Services products.
Achieve established sales goals.
Maintain knowledge of product features, marketing techniques, and sales techniques, and use sound sales practices with customers.
Respond to customer inquiries and problems.
Build sales opportunities through customer engagement and follow-up.
Complete applications and forms and follow internal processing procedures to ensure transactions comply with company policies and practices.
Prepare reports documenting prospecting and sales activities.
Maintain specified production standards and persistency levels for required products.
Collaborate with others in the branch to reach business goals and maximize leads, sales, and cross-selling opportunities.
Assist Underwriting and Brokerage Departments in satisfying requirements.
