Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing
About The Position
MedCare Pediatric is hiring Licensed Vocational Nurses to provide private-duty pediatric home health care. The role delivers one-on-one skilled nursing care in patients’ homes, supporting children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or recovery needs after injuries or extensive surgery. Nurses help patients remain safely with their families rather than requiring care in an inpatient facility. The position includes 8–12-hour shifts and offers full-time and part-time opportunities, with day, night, weekday, and weekend schedules available in the Greater Houston area and surrounding communities. Nurses work with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team, and complete accurate, timely clinical documentation. Requirements
- Current Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.
- At least 6 months of pediatric home health experience as an LVN.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled one-on-one nursing care to pediatric patients in their homes during 8–12-hour shifts.
- Care for children with serious illnesses, medical complexities, disabilities, or those recovering from injuries or extensive surgery.
- Assess patient conditions during each visit, including monitoring vital signs and seizure activity.
- Provide care for gastrostomy tubes (G-tubes), tracheostomies, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilators.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and according to the individualized plan of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team to support quality patient outcomes.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
