About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician provides direct and indirect patient care requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice. The role addresses patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs and supports communication between patients and their families. The LVN works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process in the emergency room setting.
Requirements
- Hold a current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- Have a current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
Nice To Haves
- IV certification upon hire preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in an applicable setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using technical and manual skills within the scope of practice.
- Address the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of patient care.
- Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
- Work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrate knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the emergency room triage process.
